It's mooncake festival tonight. A colleague fed me some mooncake today that tasted like prawn paste. Very salty. Then I heard her say something like it was salted fish mooncake. Luckily, it's just my horrible mandarin and not really a salted-fish mooncake. Still, it was the worst I've even had.
it's supposed to be mid autumn festival right? still remember the old chinese teacher i had when i was in school who was adamant that we call it by its proper name, even in english, as, she felt, it was such an insult to tradition otherwise.
this blog was started when serene and michael left singapore.
ryan joined the family in 2009 and is now causing massive upheaval.
this blog chronicles the funny stuff they encounter and the random thoughts that strike them. sometimes they are liable to get on the soapbox to rant about issues. sometimes they try to put up artistic photos.

Fly Lice with peas, egg, seaweed, ham/luncheon meat, boiled lettuce and umm, Rice?
Looks not so yummy, but food pics are usually deceiving.
flied lice, yes. egg, seaweed, yes.
no peas, ham, luncheon meat, lettuce.
it's actually edamame and pork. and you did not see the onions, garlic, and leek.
not bad, but a little bland. trying not to get "restaurant quality" saltiness.
