We like cats. Speaking for myself, I like their sensual, independent nature; their ability to convince you to do things for them, and the way they reward you by letting us stroke them, again, for their pleasure. Walking home on Saturday, we came across one cat on the pavement leading up to a house, again on Sussex avenue. Usually, cats can be very wary of strangers, and would normally keep its distance, especially the ones that are not tame. This cat however, was very friendly and as soon as it noticed me coming close to take a photo of it, it sauntered forward, and in the way the cats always do, walked off to one side, pretending to walk out of the way which was blocked by me, but in the process rubbing the side closer to me against my pant legs. It obviously wanted some stroking. After some time, it settled down in front of me, sort of noticed the camera, and started to pose for it, almost like it knew what it was doing. And in characteristic prima-donna style, it got bored, turned over on its back, yawned, got up to another pose, then got bored and walked away. I dunno. Perhaps he was expecting some flash lights?
I love cats.
