I've read accounts and seen pictures where people throw boiling water up in -40C temperatures and it comes down as ice. I'd like to do that one day too, but for now, we made do with -18C.
Apparently, at -18C (or -30C, as it was very windy outside), if your window is single-paned and the room is steamy, the condensation on your window will freeze... producing, literally, frosted glass.
The window panes were iced as well.
And so I got the brilliant idea to produce more frosted glass by splashing water on the outside of our double-paned windows. It froze within seconds.
What can I say? We were bored.
