MiKE: and this one too... [dec 2006]

For me, this is the marquee picture of our trip to France.

Lovely picture, right? This was a film print, and then scanned, so much of the quality is lost. The camera: Ricoh GR1v 35mm film camera, 28mm 1:2.8. Forgot the film used. Probably some Kodak ISO200 or so. Really loved the pictures taken off that camera - it was so easy to get good shots from it. Distortion free wide angle, excellent picture sharpness from corner to corner, compact, responsive. Really wished it was cheaper to take pictures, and more convenient. There's the GR digital, and GRD-ii, but from what I read so far, it is not something really worth spending the money for. When will a company make a camera with (a) large sensor (b) wide angle lens (at least 28mm, 35mm equivalent) (c) fast lens: f2.0 would be nice (d) compact (e) has manual control. Yes, like the GR1v, but only digital. And, while we're at it, why not (f) has RAW (g) can write RAW files under 2s
