MiKE: Long Shadow

Long Shadow, originally uploaded by mike.tan.

We went to the distillery district, the older part of Toronto that was, surprise surprise, formerly a whiskey distillery. Part of the charm, of course, was the really antique stone buildings and brick roads; unfortunately, however, not all the buildings have been fully restored. Those that did were now in use as high end art galleries, restaurants, and one large building is now a concert hall of sorts. Still a long way to go before this area is fully museum-ized to become a tourist attraction, the way that Montréal is, especially the old port area. Perhaps a big hindrance in Toronto will be the current port, somewhat in use still, and most of all, the Gardiner Expressway, a sorry blight of a road that serves as a visual fence that blocks the view of the lake. Ah well. enjoy the photo.

You're becoming really good at this. I enjoy black and white.
